He says the vibe has changed since the two stars took off.
The CW’s 90210 has certainly taken a hit in the past month — both Jennie Garth and Rob Estes decided to leave the show to pursue other ventures — but star Tristan Wilds says the cast is carrying on just fine. “We still remain family,” he told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at OK! magazine’s 3rd Annual Midnight Grammy Brunch on Jan. 30 in Hollywood. And as for the vibe on set, he says it’s a little different now. “Not in a bad way,” he said. “Not in a good way. It’s just different.”
Tristan’s answer was definitely more toned down than the one we got from another 90210 star, AnnaLynne McCord. When we asked her about the couple’s exit from the show, she was pretty blunt about her feelings.
“Um … [Jennie] hasn’t been on the show in a few episodes, but, um, we had fun,” she told us at the Jan. 28 Artists for Haiti event in Los Angeles. “Thank you for letting us do your show over again. We appreciate that.” And even though she didn’t seem to care about Jennie, she said she was “devastated” about Rob. “As everyone knows, I’m in love with Rob as are most women in the universe,” she raved. “I’m going to really miss you, Rob!!”

“90210″ fans will have something to sing about this spring! Mexican pop star Diego Boneta will be joining the cast, TV Guide reports.
Diego will play Javier, a young musician, in multiple episodes beginning in May. The buzz is that Javier has a fling with Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes), whose story line will “become increasingly music-centric when she joins an all-girl band.”
This is the first time the Mexican heartthrob will hit the small screen in America, but he is no newcomer to the music screen. Diego (who has also gone by the names Diego Indigo and Diego Gonzalez) has been nominated for Latin MTV Awards and Latin Grammys. He took to his Twitter this past weekend to break the news: “I’m going to be on several episodes of the American Hit TV series “90210″!!!! I’m playing “Javier” an international pop-star!”
What we find most interesting about the introduction of Javier into the cast is that a few months ago, word on the street was that Adrianna was going to be in a whole other kind of relationship — with a woman. We heard that she’d be exploring her options and making a real love connection with a gay West Beverly student, Gia (played by Rumer Willis). It will be interesting to see where her sexy new Latin man fits into the mix. All we can say is: ay papi!

The CW’s 90210 is not above a stunt casting. In the show’s first season, old school stars Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling, and Jennie Garth (who was, until recently, a recurring character) all saw major screentime, and Rumer Willis had a nice bit role earlier this season. But the show’s latest move doesn’t make all that much sense: Ryan O’Neal is going to play Teddy Montgomery’s movie star dad?
The one-time Hollywood bad boy was spotted filming scenes in a vintage corvette with Trevor Donovan this week. It’s unlikely that most regular 90210 viewers know much about O’Neal – beyond, of course, his longtime relationship with the late Farrah Fawcett – so his sudden appearance on the show seems a little out of nowhere.

I’m thinking about dropping 90210 from my TiVo lineup. Say something to stop me from doing so. — Alexa
MICKEY: If you were unhappy with the mix of story lines in the fall episodes, imagine putting them all in a blender, leaving the cover off and hitting pulse a few times. Sure, some of your West Bev smoothie will spill out the top (never to be heard from again), but what’s left inside the blender will recombine familiar ingredients in new and interesting ways. The romantics in the hizzy might enjoy the unexpected pairings planned for the spring run.

Jennie Garth may have announced she’s leaving the revived 90210, but she’s not gone for good—at least not if onscreen half-sis Jessica Stroup has anything to do with it!
“There’s no saying she’s never going to come back,” Stroup recently told us. “She’s my sister. She will come back…I’m going to make it happen!”
But getting Kelly Taylor back to West Bev isn’t all Stroup’s character, Silver, has to worry about. She still has plenty of high school dramz going on, including a juicy love triangle with ex-beau Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and campus heartthrob/player Teddy (Trevor Donovan).
So, we’re dying to know: who does Silver really want to be with?
“It’s a tough call, but I think right now, deep down, Silver really wants to be with Teddy,” Stroup said.
Ironically, Stroup says she didn’t exactly welcome Donovan when he joined the cast. “When Trevor first started, I was like, ‘I don’t know about this guy—I’m not sure,’” she said. “It was literally like art imitating life and life imitating art. At first I thought he was stepping on our territory, but I’m actually having a blast with him.
“He’s such a good guy,” Stroup continued. “His character is finding his way to be a good guy as well.”

After a little initial flurry in the figures the re-work of the 1990’s hit show 90210 came back with a bang, guaranteeing a ratings success for the CW network.
With a whole new cast of characters as well as cameos from old stalwarts, the brand new 90210 delivers all the bang for your buck and all the glorious bitchiness and backstabbing of the original.
The next season is set to air in the close future – a date has yet to be released by CW as they gear up to debut their new line-up – but don’t expect to see all your favorite characters when 90210 returns to the screens.
Jennie Garth has already announced that she won’t be renewing her role as Kelly Taylor on the the next season and now RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that one of the new characters will also be noticeably absent.
Veteran actor and past soap star, Rob Estes, who plays Harry Wilson the school principal, has abruptly and unexpectedly quit the show amongst rumors of contract negotiations falling short of the mark.
“The bottom line is that Rob won’t be on the show next season,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “ The producers, the studio and Rob came to the conclusion together that his role had ran its course. There just wasn’t enough for Rob to do because the show is more about the kids.”
But going on to hint at the real reason for Rob quitting the show, the source continues, “Rob’s an expensive actor and wants to be challenged and it became increasingly clear that most of the penny lifting was going to the younger cast members of the show, who Rob adores. He’s absolutely leaving the show on good terms.” (more…)
Now that the new 90210 is well into its second season, I thought it’d be beneficial to step back and evaluate the show’s highlights and low-lights with respect to the great, the original, the real Beverly Hills TV legend.

Back in the day, there wasn’t a tighter crew. Dylan and Brandon’s friendship was timeless, regardless of who ended up with Kelly. Even Kelly and Brenda seemed to work things out after the Dylan debacle. For better or worse, the old show made viewers feel like teenage drama over romances wasn’t a decisive factor in friendship.
In the new 90210, it’s been a rocky coming together. As far as I can tell, the girls are always fighting, and while there have been several occasions where one of them came through without reason, I’m not quite convinced they’ve got the same staying power as the originals. I mean, Ethan already left the show. WTF is up with that?? He only made it one season.
Also, the new crowd rarely hangs out in The Peach Pit (which has been disastrously remodeled), a testament to their individualism, which is just a huge mistake. (more…)
There have been reports about the return date of “90210″ following a brief hiatus, but the CW has officially confirmed that the show will return with new episodes on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
New episodes of “Melrose Place” will follow.

The new modern revamp of 90210 is still going strong and its star gave us a scoop about what’s coming up. Ryan Eggold, who plays the show’s Ryan Matthews, said some of this season’s guest stars will be back with even more to do.
“I know Rumer Willis, her part gets a little bigger so that’s exciting,” Eggold said. “I’m sure there will be someone new and exciting. The second half of the season I’m sure there’ll be some cool people.”
More importantly, the regular cast will get juicier storylines and scenes to play. “I think the writing has been getting stronger. I think the photography of the show has been getting stronger. I think it’s been growing as a show and so it’s nice to be a part of that.”
Though the fictional stories may be full of drama, Eggold says the actual set is harmonious. “It’s been good. It’s been great. I appreciate just working. Just going to work in a friendly environment. I love the cast and crew. There’s a lot of joking on set and I really like working there. It’s great.”
