What the heck is Hollywood DJ-to-the-stars Samantha Ronson doing on 90210?

Handing out love advice, of course! Who better than the gossip rag regular to stop by Beverly Hills and impart some wisdom to the younguns.

We caught Matt Lanter (Liam) and Michael Steger (Navid) at I Fly Hollywood just before they tried some indoor skydiving, and the twosome chatted about the DJ’s upcoming guest spot. “Liam’s trying to talk Navid into going over and talking to some girls and Samantha chimes in. It was fun. She’s cool,” said Matt. Plus, it was a surprise for the cast. “She was in the script under some other character’s name,” explains Michael, “and then the day of, Samantha Ronson showed up.”

Michael couldn’t stop raving about the cool episode setup for both Sam and musical guest Pharrell Williams. “She played a DJ over at Edison Bar in Los Angeles, and Pharrell actually performed that night. It was awesome,” said the star.

As for Liam’s always-uncertain future with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Matt is hopeful. “There’s going to be many more ups and downs, a roller coaster of problems. Me and AnnaLynne want it to happen—we want Liam and Naomi to get back together, so hopefully they’re working on it.”

Don’t get too excited just yet, tubers. Newcomer Gillian Zinser is joining the cast soon, and her presence won’t make it easy for Liomi. “Liam’s got a new surfer chick love interest, and she incorporates into the group a little bit,” teased Matt.

Cruising the streets in a white VW Beetle as the cameras rolled, the “90210” trio were clad in their swimsuits as they lotioned one another up during a sunny SoCal day.
