He says the vibe has changed since the two stars took off.
The CW’s 90210 has certainly taken a hit in the past month — both Jennie Garth and Rob Estes decided to leave the show to pursue other ventures — but star Tristan Wilds says the cast is carrying on just fine. “We still remain family,” he told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at OK! magazine’s 3rd Annual Midnight Grammy Brunch on Jan. 30 in Hollywood. And as for the vibe on set, he says it’s a little different now. “Not in a bad way,” he said. “Not in a good way. It’s just different.”

Tristan’s answer was definitely more toned down than the one we got from another 90210 star, AnnaLynne McCord. When we asked her about the couple’s exit from the show, she was pretty blunt about her feelings.

“Um … [Jennie] hasn’t been on the show in a few episodes, but, um, we had fun,” she told us at the Jan. 28 Artists for Haiti event in Los Angeles. “Thank you for letting us do your show over again. We appreciate that.” And even though she didn’t seem to care about Jennie, she said she was “devastated” about Rob. “As everyone knows, I’m in love with Rob as are most women in the universe,” she raved. “I’m going to really miss you, Rob!!”

“90210″ fans will have something to sing about this spring! Mexican pop star Diego Boneta will be joining the cast, TV Guide reports.

Diego will play Javier, a young musician, in multiple episodes beginning in May. The buzz is that Javier has a fling with Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes), whose story line will “become increasingly music-centric when she joins an all-girl band.”

This is the first time the Mexican heartthrob will hit the small screen in America, but he is no newcomer to the music screen. Diego (who has also gone by the names Diego Indigo and Diego Gonzalez) has been nominated for Latin MTV Awards and Latin Grammys. He took to his Twitter this past weekend to break the news: “I’m going to be on several episodes of the American Hit TV series “90210″!!!! I’m playing “Javier” an international pop-star!”

What we find most interesting about the introduction of Javier into the cast is that a few months ago, word on the street was that Adrianna was going to be in a whole other kind of relationship — with a woman. We heard that she’d be exploring her options and making a real love connection with a gay West Beverly student, Gia (played by Rumer Willis). It will be interesting to see where her sexy new Latin man fits into the mix. All we can say is: ay papi!

After a little initial flurry in the figures the re-work of the 1990’s hit show 90210 came back with a bang, guaranteeing a ratings success for the CW network.

With a whole new cast of characters as well as cameos from old stalwarts, the brand new 90210 delivers all the bang for your buck and all the glorious bitchiness and backstabbing of the original.

The next season is set to air in the close future – a date has yet to be released by CW as they gear up to debut their new line-up – but don’t expect to see all your favorite characters when 90210 returns to the screens.

Jennie Garth has already announced that she won’t be renewing her role as Kelly Taylor on the the next season and now RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that one of the new characters will also be noticeably absent.

Veteran actor and past soap star, Rob Estes, who plays Harry Wilson the school principal, has abruptly and unexpectedly quit the show amongst rumors of contract negotiations falling short of the mark.

“The bottom line is that Rob won’t be on the show next season,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “ The producers, the studio and Rob came to the conclusion together that his role had ran its course. There just wasn’t enough for Rob to do because the show is more about the kids.”

But going on to hint at the real reason for Rob quitting the show, the source continues, “Rob’s an expensive actor and wants to be challenged and it became increasingly clear that most of the penny lifting was going to the younger cast members of the show, who Rob adores. He’s absolutely leaving the show on good terms.” (more…)

For the first time in the network’s brief history, The CW has more potential than ever before. “90210″ is taking off while “Gossip Girl’s” still sublimely snarky, “One Tree Hill” feels fresher than ever, “Vampire Diaries” is a runaway hit and “Melrose Place” has so much untapped potential, it would explode if accidentally punctured.

The best thing about “MP” is easily Katie Cassidy’s Ella — she has all of Amanda Woodward’s strengths and none of her weaknesses. Well, except for super short skirts, which is not a complaint. I find myself spending every non-Ella moment waiting for her to breeze back into the scene — decked out in a devastatingly chic ensemble — popping off with some fiendishly fabulous dialogue.

Far be it from me to tell The CW to cannibalize its fall lineup, but, if they were interested in making one end all, be all soapy drama, these five CW compatriots would send Ella’s spin-off into the stratosphere!

No show (on any network) is complete without Blair Waldorf. Paired with Ella, Miss Blair might finally be able to ascend the throne she so richly deserves. And the “Gossip” girl fails to reach her full potential without her better half, Chuck Bass. Their scheming ways are only matched by “Vampire Diaries” evil Damon. This tall, dark and handsome fella must be paired with a worthy woman: “One Tree Hills” Brooke is the only lady I can think of who’s capable of properly polishing Damon’s fangs.

Rounding out the sexiest six stars to ever fill a series would be “90210’s” Adrianna. Although, I would very much like to find a happy balance between the unhinged drug addict of season one and the romantic comedy heroine of season two.

With their powers combine, the world — and the ratings — would fall at their finely pedicured feet!

Why hire an actress to play the coolest deejay in town when you can get the real thing? The producers of 90210 have confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE that Samantha Ronson, the celebrity deejay and on-and-off again girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan, has filmed an episode of the CW show.

Ronson’s scenes take place in a club where hip-hop star Pharrell and his group N.E.R.D. also perform. Her role also has her advising the character, Navid, played by Michael Steger, on matters of the heart.

There is no word yet on whether or not Ronson will be return to the famous zip code for another stint. Her episode will air the CW on Nov. 3.

When the reboot of “90210″ premiered last year on The CW, fans of the original “Beverly Hills 90210″ were naturally skeptical that the high school drama would carry the same cred that the Aaron Spelling prime time soap had during its successful 10-year run on FOX. While the first season boasted strong ratings for the CW as well as on-screen drama for original series stars Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling, there was apparently enough drama happening off-screen to warrant replacing the original showrunners with Rebecca Sinclair (“Gilmore Girls”) towards the end of last season. Now comfortably in the driver’s seat, Sinclair recently talked to Jim Halterman about how she went about revamping the show, the new characters brought in to stir the pot and which of the original West Beverly cast members will be popping up once again in future episodes.

Jim Halterman: In taking over the showrunning duties, what worked and didn’t work for you during the first year?

Rebecca Sinclair: When I came in at the tail end of last year I was running the writers’ room but I wasn’t in charge of the sets or the edits. I had a limited point of view and I was pretty hesitant when I took over the show because I felt like it needed a pretty big overhaul. It wasn’t until I was assured that I would have that creative control that basically I hired an all new writing staff, a new producing director, a new DP, I built new sets and I hired new wardrobe so from the production standpoint I did a real overhaul. Storywise the weird thing about the first season of “90210″ was the original showrunners were so slammed immediately that they kind of got underwater immediately and the characters had never been fully developed. The first thing that we really did was to talk about who the characters were before we started breaking story arcs. Who is Adriana (played by Jessica Lowndes)? What is she all about? We kind of reconciled all the facts from her life and had them resonate as a real character and we did that for each of the characters. I think that was the most essential thing other than all the style stuff, which was huge too. I think just taking the time to really figure out who the characters and the story arcs are so we know where we’re going, which I think is invaluable in your writing.

Last night on the CW, we got our second round of back-to-back fun in the California sun with 90210 and Melrose Place. Heading into the new Fall season, I fully expected MP to be the more daring of the two shows — there was theft, murder, and sex in the pilot alone. On the other hand, while 90210 tried to keep things more wholesome in season one, clearly the writers are cranking things up a notch this year and seem to be leaving those Wilson family values in the dust.

So here’s the real question — which episode brought more scandalous, over-the-top moments last night? Can a racy high school text message really compete with the inner-workings of a group of amoral 20-somethings? I’ll break it all down and declare a winner when you read more.

  • 90210 point: Naomi corners Annie in the bathroom multiple times, threatening to ruin her life. Bonus point because AnnaLynne McCord totally would have made me cry in high school (or now).
  • Melrose Place counterpoint: Lauren decides to embrace her new life as a hooker escort with a heart of gold.
  • 90210 point: It was a big night for evil Jen: first she admits that she’s just using Ryan to make herself look less like a gold digger. Then she manipulates her poor sister into sending out a naked photo (aka sext) to everyone in school, thus defaming Annie’s status as the sweet and innocent principal’s daughter.
  • MP counterpoint: We find out that Auggie’s past includes a deadly knife brawl and getting into a stabby fight with former landlord Sydney. He should probably pack his knives and go.
  • 90210 point: To some extent, Teddy knows about Annie’s hit-and-run. Annie’s life continues to suck.
  • MP counterpoint: Sydney may be Violet’s mom. Violet enjoys floating face down in the pool, striking fear into the heart of Jonah, though I don’t really understand what his problem is with a little floating time.
  • 90210 point: Dixon punches out the obnoxious dude responsible for the sext.
  • MP counterpoint: David steals from his ex-girlfriend’s house party while Ella is outside using her powers of persuasion to catch an actor with his pants down.

Now that I’ve covered the major plot lines, it’s time to declare a winner. It’s a tough call, but I’ve gotta give this round to 90210. Sexting didn’t even exist in my own high school days, but now that it’s a common phenomenon, I give kudos to the show for what may be its juiciest episode thus far.

Trevor Donovan not only teased that Teddy and Adrianna had a past together, but that there might be a potentially new love triangle in the new season of 90210. Enjoy the interview below and remember that season 2 of 90210 premieres on September 8 on The CW.

Congratulations on getting onto ‘90210′. I bet that’s really exciting.

Trevor Donovan: Thank you so much. Yeah, it is. I’m on cloud nine for sure.

Can you talk about your character Teddy Montgomery and what he’ll be doing on the show?

Trevor Donovan: I sure can. Teddy is a new kid at West Beverly High. He’s been on the East coast at a private school and whatnot. He’s the quintessential all American golden boy. He’s the son of a two time Oscar winning actor. Obviously, he comes from a very rich family but isn’t pretentious at all. He doesn’t have that potential rich kid attitude. He’s very nice, very welcoming. He’s more mature beyond his years because he grew up in an adult environment, grew up around the entertainment industry with his father being an actor and all of that. So he comes into school and there’s a little tension and a little drama created by his presence on the scene. So we’ll see. [READ MORE]

Amalia Zinser has been cast as Ivy, a surfer chick who will tempt 90210’s guys, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Tomboy Ivy is just one of West Bev’s guys, and as such she’ll flirt with both Dixon and Liam (which doesn’t bode well for Silver and Naomi) at the beach. “She’s the quintessential California girl — easy-going, athletic and full of fun,” says a mole. Ivy’s first appearance will be in October.

Though Zinser is a relative newcomer to Hollywood, you might recognize her from recent guest-starring gigs on Cold Case, Southland and Cupid.

School is back in session in the world’s most fabulous zip code, and things are richer, raunchier and more scandalous than ever in “90210.” “90210″ was last season’s biggest hit on the CW, and AnnaLynne McCord is emerging as the show’s break-out star. At 21, she has already been seen on “Ugly Betty,” “The O.C.,” “Cold Case,” “CSI: Miami” as well as a slew of films: “The Haunting of Molly Hartley” with Chace Crawford, “Fired Up” with Sarah Roehmer and Molly Sims, “Transporter 2″ and the 2003 re-make of “Dawn of the Dead.” Playing rich teen with issues Naomi Clark on the new “90210″ promises to give her an entirely new level of recognition in Hollywood.
