The 90210 zip code just got a little bit more exciting.
Beverly Hills’ resident drama-queen, Brenda Walsh, will be making a return for the season finale of the CW’s 90210, E! Online reports.
“It is the finale, so you can probably expect a lot of drama,” Shannen Doherty tells E!.
Brenda was last seen fighting with former BFF Kelly (Jennie Garth), after she hooked up with Kelly’s love interest, Ryan.
Over on “90210,” Tori Spelling’s much ballyhooed return to her roots as Donna Martin will take place on April 14 along with Oscar winner Diablo Cody guest starring turn as herself. This overlaps with the return as Jennie Garth as Kelly the previous week as well as Ann Gillespie reprising her role as Jackie Taylor from the original series in order to deal with Silver’s (Jessica Stroup) emotional dramas in an episode that “90210″ alum Jason Priestley will direct.
Love is also in the air as Rhonda (Aimee Teegarden) returns to share a kiss with Ethan (Dustin Milligan) at a dance on March 31, and Liam the underaged bartender (Matt Lanter) shares a “wild night” with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), who later will have to deal with her drama queen sister Jen (Sara Foster) on April 28. Series star Rob Estes will also direct the episode April 21 in which Donna considers moving back to Beverly Hills.
Before returning to “90210,” Spelling will take another guest turn on The CW’s “Smallville” March 12 as Linda Lake, a journalist who threatens to reveal Clark’s (Tom Welling) secret identity. Welling himself will take a seat behind the cameras as director of the March 26 episode.

It is OFFICIAL. 90210 has been picked up for a 2nd season!!!
The CW released this press release today:
THE CW ANNOUNCES EARLY PICKUPS OF SERIES
‘Gossip Girl,” “One Tree Hill,” “90210,” “America’s Next Top Model,” “Smallville” and “Supernatural” To Return Next Season
February 24, 2009 (Burbank, California) — The CW announced today the early pickups of six series, including five of the network’s signature dramas and the reality hit AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which will all return in Fall 2009.
“As we continue to build The CW Network as a destination for young women, these six shows have clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity,” said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW. “By securing these signature hits for next season, we’re furthering our commitment to deliver high-quality, original programming to our viewers, advertisers and affiliates.”
Among the series receiving early pickups for next season are The CW’s Monday tandem of sophomore sensation GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL, which combined to lift The CW to become the fall’s #1 network on Monday with women 18-34. Both GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL have scored double-digit gains compared to their previous seasons. Freshman hit 90210 has improved the network’s Tuesday night by double-digit increases in key demos. Wednesday anchor AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, which consistently wins its time period with young women, will also be back with superstar Tyra Banks and new groups of aspiring models for cycles 13 and 14.
Also renewed were the network’s established Thursday team of SMALLVILLE, in its ninth season, and SUPERNATURAL, which after posting ratings growth this season, will enter its fifth season next year.
I’ve updated the gallery with more photos of Jessica Stroup and Tristan Wilds filming in L.A. on February 11th. [VIEW]
I’ve also added some very spoilerish photos of Jessica Lowndes on set in LA this past week. If you do not want to be spoiled, do not click the link!
Jennie Garth either just jinxed “90210,” or she spilled the good-news beans when she hinted at a second season pick-up for The CW’s remix of the Aaron Spelling classic.
“It’s looking pretty good that we’re gonna get picked up for next year,” Garth, who is pictured above with Tori Spelling filming an upcoming episode where Donna Martin visits her Beverly bestie, tells Hollyscoop.
Fans of the “Beverly Hills” reincarnation will surely hope for the latter.
